Power of Attorney

Any living, competent adult may execute a power of attorney, granting authority to someone else to handle that person's affairs. The power of attorney may be limited to a specific purpose, such as health care decisions or the signing of one particular document, or may be general and include all decisions and acts. The power of attorney does not prevent the principal (person signing the power of attorney) from contemporaneously making his or her own decisions.
